MAC Cosmetics has announced Lady Gaga to be the face and the spokeswoman of their Viva Glam campaign for 2011. This marks Lady Gaga’s second-year of becoming the face for the MAC campaign. In the previous year, Gaga posed with Cyndi Lauper on the same campaign ad, and the company said that the ad was the most successful campaign the company ever had for its AIDS Fund.

MAC has raised more than $190 million for its cause campaign since 1994, when the funding started. The fund’s aim is to spread awareness regarding the viral disease, and help provide necessary resources for patients who are suffering from it.

Lady Gaga is now going solo on her turn in 2011 ads. She was being styled by Nicola Formichetti and by creative director Thierry Mugler, and photographed by Nick Knight.

Analysts believed that the solo ads of Lady Gaga for the next year’s campaign will provide numerous incentives for the MAC campaign. In a sneak glance of Gaga, she is dripping in pearls and diamonds with a glammed-out smokey eye finish, which contrast her nude lips and platinum blonde hair style.

Nancy Mahon, executive director for the MAC AIDS Fund, said that using rock stars in their campaign program has on big impact to women of all ages.

Last year, Lady Gaga joined Cyndi Lauper raised over $32 million in funds.
